All together, this region has over 53 National sites, and many of the state have outstandingstate park systems as well.

Check Out the Small Town Museums (as well as the large ones)- A lot of the most interesting museums are those that are not on the map, like the town museum in Three Forks, Montana in which the local people gathered memorabilia from their town spanning a century and a half. Of course, some of the more famous museums are worth stopping by as well, such as the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wy. This museum has five separate galleries which cover some aspect of the west such as Indians of the West or Natural History.

5. Learn to Ski- The West is famous for its sunny weather, but we also have the best powder around. For those of you that are not interested in trying snowboarding, you might try x-country skiing. Sun Valley, Idaho has wonderful trails another great option the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest in Montana.
