Ignatius Piazza Draws Similarity Between U.S. Supreme Court Case and Colorado Springs Shooting by Studio98

Ignatius Piazza's way of life is Firearms. Gun training is his life's passion, and he has devoted much of his adult life pursuing firearms training for himself and for others. He founded a shooting school, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, and there delivers gun training to more students annually than all other major shooting schools in the nation combined. His notion of firearms training goes far beyond what the average citizens thinks of. Ignatius Piazza hears firearms training and thinks responsibility, safety, security. With the U.S. Supreme Court considering the constitutionality of a handgun ban of the District of Columbia, Ignatius Piazza is hoping that the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court will look to the heroic efforts of Jeanne Assam in Colorado Springs, who single-handedly saved dozens of lives at her Colorado Springs New Life church.

What occurred in Colorado Springs last week is a tragedy, Ignatius Piazza expects that no one will make any mistake of that. However, how the Colorado Spring shooting ended is a miracle, and Ignatius Piazza demands that all of America understand that. What occurred in Colorado Springs was this: the Colorado Springs New Life church asked for any of its parishioners who had received formal gun training and were licensed to carry a firearm to volunteer as security. Jeanne Assam, who had received firearms training and was so licensed, was one of those volunteers. On Sunday, a man entered the Colorado Springs New Life church grounds and opened fire in the parking lot, killing two girls and injuring their father.

The man then made his way toward the church itself. Here he could have done untold damage and killed dozens, for estimates say there were 7,000 people in or around the church at the time of the shooting. Jeanne Assam, however, was there in time. Before the man could make it fifty feet inside of the building, Jeanne Assam's gun training came to its culmination: she took responsibility of the situation and shot and killed the armed murderer before he could go further. The police arrived on the scene to find the murderer dead and Jeanne Assam in charge of the situation.

Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight applaud Jeanne Assam for her unflinching use of the firearms training that she had received. While no one ever hopes to have to utilize the gun training they receive, every student of gun training knows why they are taking it: so that they can use it if they need to. Jeanne Assam protected the lives of dozens of Colorado Springs churchgoers, perhaps as many as one hundred - and all because she received firearms training and implemented it when she needed to.

Ignatius Piazza points to the example of the Colorado Springs hero to illustrate why the U.S. Supreme Court's case is so important. If the U.S. Supreme Court decides to ignore the example set in Colorado Springs, and also all over America every month, Americans may be in a terrible position. If Americans can't own firearms, how can they expect to defend themselves? Ignatius Piazza demands that the U.S. Supreme Court pay attention to what gun rights really are: the right to life.
